approximately 2 months ago, I downloaded avg registry cleaner. it worked fine for about 2 weeks, then the trouble began. I cannot and could not afford to pay for it. like a virus, it tried to eat my computer; tics, pops, and pings. the inflictions were irritating and annoying. so, I uninstalled the software, back tracked the created problems, and solved all the hidden mis-functions leftover. a week later, I downloaded avg 2014, worked fine until 4 days ago. I use a phone modem, I now do not have network access, and beginning to notice the same problems I had with registry cleaner. some time ago, I was told these viruses are produced by the same people that create anti-virus software. make no mistake, this is proving evident. twice bitten, not a third for me. if any a v software acts in this manner, all should speak out and take action. I am now quickly reducing avg’s ability to disrupt my laptops true capabilities, until I can uninstall this F. U. B. A. R. software, and be done with avg. anti-virus is fine until it turns into a stealth virus embedding anti-virus nightmare. if it sounds to good to be true don’t swallow the crap.

do not want avg free anymore, it is getting worse today. it can’t kill infections! its uninstaller would not help actually, and i need to go to database as mentioned in the post. it is a tough task to uninstall it, but thank for your patient guidance. My comp is good now and will keep updating myself with virus list as you recommended. And I am bookmarking your site in case I got virus in the near future ;)
